Face of the Day: Naked Palette Look 2

First I primed the face with L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Primer to give the face a glow from within. I then used the Rimmel Match Perfect Foundation in the Shade Porcelain which matches Emily’s face really well. Next I concealed any blemishes and the under eye area using Collection Illuminating Touch Brightening Concealer in Natural. I set all of this using Collection Pressed Powder in Candlelight. I used Sleek Face Form Contouring and Blush Palette in Light to contour and highlight the face and then I used Benefit Dandelion Blush to finish off the face.

I primed the eyes using Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer and used the Urban Decay Naked Palette to construct the eye look. I used Virgin all over the eye area, Sin on the inner third, Sidecar on the middle third, Toasted on the outer third, Naked in the crease and I lined the waterline with Hustle. I also used Collection Intense Colour Soft Kohl in Birdy Song on the waterline. The mascaras I used are Maybelline The Falsies and No7 Stay Perfect Long Lasting Volume Mascara.

I used Benefit Posietint on the lips followed by Revlon Super Lustrous™ Lipstick in Pink in the Afternoon. I then finished off the lips with Benefit Dandelion Lipgloss. Finally I finished off the look by going over Emily’s brows with the Maybelline Master Shape Brow Pencil in Dark Blonde.

I hope you have enjoyed this make up look.

Naked Palette Makeup Look 1

One of my favourite presents that I received for christmas is the Naked Palette by Urban Decay so I thought that I would share with you one of my favourite looks. I hope you like it.

First I primed my eyelids with Urban Decay I shadow primer then I brightened and concealed my eyes using Fake up by Benefit and Lasting Perfection Concealer by Collection. Then I proceeded to use the Naked palette to construct my eyeshadow.

These are the colours that I used:

Creep, Buck, Smog, Sin, Virgin.
I covered the inner two thirds with sin and then the outer third, smog and then blended the two together. Then I blended buck into the crease. I then lined the upper lash line with creep and the outer waterline with smog.

I finished off the look with my favourite mascaras: They're Real by Benefit on the upper lashes and Stay Perfect Long Lasting Volume Mascara by No7. This was the end result.

I hope that you have enjoyed this look.

So it’s finally here 2014, a brand new year, a fresh start and hopefully it is going to be a great one. However, let’s take a moment to reflect on 2013.

For me 2013 was a big year. I started my placement which continues to go well although it was very daunting in the beginning. I also plucked up the courage to do something which I have wanted to do for a long time with a bit of a push from my boyfriend and that was to create a YouTube channel and start posting videos. It has been great fun although it has had its ups and downs such as the vlogmas fail which was out of my hands to some extent (See Video Below). I also started this blog which I have been enjoying and I hope to continue to write posts and watch it grow into something of which I can be proud.

I also spent some time preparing for 2014 as I want to make sure that it’s a good one and it helps to have a plan. I am pretty bad to sticking to the plans that I make so I came up with some methods to keep myself in check. I have set myself several goals for 2014 or call the resolutions if you prefer. I would like to eat healthier and exercise more, make more videos and write more blogs, be more organised and finally just be happy. I’ve purposely tried to be vague and decided not to give myself a specific goal such as: ‘upload 3 videos a week’ as if I couldn’t do that one week I would feel like such a failure. I talk about how I am going to make sure that I stick to my goals in one of my videos (see below).

I celebrated the New Year with a few close friends and their other halves at our local pub which was nice. Although I wasn’t able to fully enjoy the evening as I was still unwell and exhausted, it was still good to spend time with people I don’t see enough. Simon and I then returned home and I dug out some sparklers and we had fun with the camera and the shutter speed. On New Year’s Day my family goes down to the river to watch and in some cases take part in the New Year’s swim. It is usually really nice as it is done for charity and in memory of my granddad as he took part for over 20 years. Unfortunately, the weather was terrible so we went straight home after watching the swim and had a film day.

It is now a few days in to 2014 and I think I can say that although 2013 had its ups and downs, I have everything in place to make sure that 2014 is a fantastic year.

I hope that you all have a great year and feel free to let me know what plans you have for 2014.
